Ihren (Ex)lover und ideologischen Widersacher Pollione gibt Gianluca Terranova als Machoschwein mit Grandezza, also genau so, wie Bellini und sein Librettist Felice Romani sich den stolzen Römer vermutlich vorgestellt haben. Mit viel Metall in der Stimme schmettert er seine Auftrittsarie, schmiert das hohe C zwar ein wenig in Position, singt aber sicher und unangefochten. Warum die Frauen im Feindesland ihm im Plural verfallen, macht er allerdings ebenso deutlich und umgarnt Adalgisa im Duett mit fein dosiertem Tenorschmelz. Con Gianluca Terranova, il Teatro ha un tenore ospite che interpreta Pollione il quale non solo canta virilmente con voce stentorea la famigerata aria d'ingresso proiettando lo squillo in mezzo al pubblico, ma ha dimostrato malleabilità anche nelle parti di assieme con flessibilità e mezze voci.

Allen voran muss die Leistung des Tenors Gianluca Terranova als Rodolfo
hervorgehoben werden. Mit Superlativen sollte man ja vorsichtig sein.
Aber Terranova verfügt über eine wunderbare Stimme, von einer Wärme und

Only the director's explanation in the program notes , and the reference to the historical figure of Don Carlo , actually suffering from physical and psychological strain , makes it clear : Don Carlo was probably mentally limited because of incest . For his vocal performance Gianluca Terranova receives much applause from the audience at the first .
Die Inszenierung von Guy Joosten hält sich weitestgehend an die Vorgaben Giuseppe Verdis. Gianluca Terranova, der die Hauptfigur Don Carlo spielt und singt, begeistert mit seiner hervorragenden Tenorstimme, sein vermeintlich schlechtes Schauspiel lässt die Zuschauer_innen jedoch mit Verwunderung zurück. Erst die Erläuterung des Regisseurs im Programmheft und der Verweis auf die historische Figur machen klar: Don Carlo war wohl aufgrund von Inzest geistig eingeschränkt. Für seine gesanglichen Leistungen erhält Gianluca Terranova viel Applaus vom Premierenpublikum.
La produzione di Guy Joosten aderisce gran parte alle specifiche di Giuseppe Verdi . Gianluca Terranova , che interpreta il personaggio principale Don Carlo e canta con entusiasmo con la sua voce da tenore eccellente, il suo personaggio disegnato dalla regia come psicopatico e fuori controllo, lascia stupiti in un primo momento. Solo la spiegazione del regista nel programma di sala e il riferimento alla figura storica del Don Carlo, effettivamente affetto da deformazione fisica e psicologica, mette in chiaro : Don Carlo è stato probabilmente mentalmente limitato a causa di incesto. Per la sua performance vocale Gianluca Terranova riceve molti applausi da parte del pubblico alla prima .

A good deal of this was due to outstanding performances from the main protagonists, Gianluca Terranova as Rodolfo and Nicole Car as Mimi. Terranova was a bluff, likeable dreamer whose journey from heady love to fear and grief was all too believable.

Gianluca Terranova may not be the world’s greatest actor (though you certainly know he’s on stage, as he radiates charisma), but he’s surely one of the best lyric tenors on the face of the earth. His top-end mellifluousness is as melting as the customary airlessness of the Joan Sutherland Theatre. Better yet, he not only communicates emotion as one would expect from an Italian, but offers superb control throughout his considerable range — especially so in the upper register. And he took considerably less time than a 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider with twin Webers to warm-up. But while the exhaust note from a pedigreed boxer engine may be agreeably invigorating, the power of Terranova’s tenor is almost astonishing; it’s not great exaggeration to say, in a Pavarotti kind of way.
