OPERA / BOHEME / BOHEME (ATLANTA 2015)
By far the most experienced and polished, tenor Gianluca Terranova presented an attractive and believable Rodolfo. In addition to a Boh��me, Atlanta 2015 long full high C in his famous aria his interesting use of the language made his performance a pleasure to hear. On his way to a upcoming production of Don Carlo (Deutsch Oper am Rhein) he may be a tenor emerging from the youthful days of Roberto Devereux, Rigoletto and Lucia di Lammermoor, into an age of more full throated vocal production. Indeed his most effective singing came at the demanding entrance in the Third Act, as well as the First Act aria's "Talor dal mio forziere" to the high C, where he showed no signs of the brighter narrower sound which he used in other parts of the role.
Di gran lunga il piu' esperto e lucido , il tenore Gianluca Terranova presentato Rodolfo attraente e credibile . Oltre a un bohemien , il do di petto nella sua celebre aria il suo uso interessante della lingua ha fatto la sua performance un piacere ascoltare . Sulla sua strada per una prossima produzione di Don Carlo (tedesco Opera sul Reno), egli puo' essere un tenore che emerge dai giorni giovanili di Roberto Devereux , Rigoletto e Lucia di Lammermoor , in un eta' di un repertorio piu' maturo per voci piene. In effetti il suo canto piu' efficace e'venuto all'entrata molto difficile nel terzo atto, come pure nel passaggio dell'Aria del primo atto "Talor dal mio forziere" fino al do acuto dove non ha mostrato nessun cambiamento di suono piu' stretto rispetto alle note centrali del resto dell'opera.
The cast is strong throughout, and opening night seemed to belong to the men, Italian tenor Gianluca Terranova as Rodolfo in particular." His youthful, heroic and clear voice perfectly suggests the poetic, dreamy nature of the character in Act 1, but it can also just as beautifully convey the later anguish and troubled self-awareness that come to the character in Act 3."
Il cast e' forte, e alla Prima sembravano superiori le parti maschili, in particolare il tenore italiano Gianluca Terranova nel ruolo di Rodolfo. La sua voce giovane , eroica e squillante suggerisce perfettamente la natura sognante del personaggio Rodolfo poeta sognatore nel primo atto, cosi' come splendidamente trasmette l'angoscia e il travaglio e la consapevolezza di se nel terzo Atto.
